Voices and languages

Eighteen languages, Studio and Standard voices, your own ElevenLabs voice, and apps whose interface is not in English.

The narration language

A project narrates in one language; a single video can override it. The guide can be written in any language: the narration is in the project's language, and the captions and burned-in subtitles follow.

Languages offered today: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi and Indonesian.

Voices and tiers

Each voice has a tier that sets how much of the month a minute uses:

Tier Voices Cost
Standard the included everyday voices the plan's base rate
Studio the premium voices, richer and more natural about one and a half times the base rate
Your voice a voice from your own ElevenLabs account the base rate

Under the project's Voice tab every voice has a play button with a short sample. Agents get the same list from list_voices.

Your own ElevenLabs voice

If you have a voice on ElevenLabs (a clone of yourself, a designed voice, your brand voice), register it under Settings → Voices with its voice id and your ElevenLabs API key. We check the pair against ElevenLabs when you save, render a sample, store the key encrypted and never show it again. The key is used for the narration call only, and the videos cost the base rate because ElevenLabs bills you for the characters.

Apps in another language

If your app's buttons and labels are in German, Japanese or any other language, set the project's App language. The recorder then looks for the words the page shows even when the guide describes them in English, and learns the exact wording of anything it guessed wrong, including the text of a confirmation message.
